is there a program out there that can make the FM transmitter transmit, and at the same time allow me to hear the music on the speakers? or hear the music with headphones?

I know that sounds dumb, but my neighbor in the cubicle next to me wants to hear my music, and all she has is an FM radio in her cube. I don't have an FM radio here. so what do you think?

Interesting problem.

Firstly you do have an FM radio built into your phone (just need to download the app for it).

Secondly, if she is ur cubicle neighbour can you not hear the music anyway?

Doesnt sound like there is something that exists for this. Could be wrong.

in this particular office, not everone likes music. so its kept at a whisper. or an earphone with 1 ear.

and the music is from an internet radio station.

so I guess you're saying I could transmit from the transmitter, then tune into it from my radio? lol. will that work?

no dont think you could transmitt and pick it up at the same time.

So you want to transmitt your music (which is from an internet radio station) to her - so she can tune in on her FM radio?

If that is the case, cant you plug in your headphones to your work PC and just listen to the internet radio station using i-tunes/media player/real player? while she enjoys the music being transmitted from your n900.

I really find it strange that someone hasn't figured a way to get Linux to transmit through both the FM transmitter and the headphone jack.

I can't think of anything beyond software coding that would make this an impossibility...

Pulseaudio can send sound to two sound devices on a desktop, for example.. why would it be impossible to configure it to output sound to the FM Transmitter device, and the built-in sound device simultaneously?
