I wrestled in my head between a HTC Hero or the N900 I eventually purchased. If it magically disappeared now I'd be looking to get a HTC Desire.

HTC would be doing well if it weren't for the N900!

Bet they would hate Nokia if they knew.

If the N900 had not come out, I'd still be using my Openmoko Freerunner. A lot of the Openmoko community has migrated to the N900. You never hear us complain about the N900 - we know what a really buggy phone is like.

I would probably have the HTC Desire if it had been out before the N900!

Probably would've waited until devices like the Motorola Droid came out.

Phone? Bah! I'd still be using my N800 and N810.

Sure, it's occasionally handy to be able to make a phone call while out and about, but it's the pocketable, touchscreen, and Linux aspects that are useful every day.

I would definitely have stayed with my Palm Centro and kept using my N810 and N800. It's hard for me to imagine getting some other phone.

Actually, I take that back. I might have gotten one of those Chinese tablets like the Q700, I think it's called, or some similar name but I would have kept using my Centro too.
