Has anyone gotten something like the SpamAssassin plugin to work with Claws?

Are there any other anti-spam measures that can be applied from the n800 - this is the last hold-up to using the n800 for a laptop replacement when I'm on the road.

I use Mailwasher on the PC - which works great (I use a whitelist / bayesian approach).

Any ideas? I'm drowning in spam on the n800!

Have you try and setup filters?

I haven't - I just realized that since "The Great Firmware Update", I haven't re-installed Claws yet.

On the n800, I've been using my ISP's webmail client to access a POP3 account that has no spam filtering.

It's slow going when you get 150-200 spam emails a day and you can only deal with them 20 at a time (and then spam comes in so often, deleting spam fails because the mbx gets locked).

I'll re-install Claws and see what I can get with filtering. What I really need is a way to convert my Mailwasher whitelist and filters to Claws.

I recommend hate you try to use SpamBayes. Its a POP3 proxy & is Python based. You will find this project on sourceforge (http://spambayes.sourceforge.net/)

I would try to route the email through a server where you can do the spamassassin filtering. I've monitored mail servers during spam attacks, and the load on the mailserver can be huge. Not something I would try to run on a device designed to save as much battery juice as possible.
