It has come to my attention that anything to do with AppManager is extremely slow.
For example if i want to install something it can take several minutes to bring up the list of apps. If i click update it can take 3 or screen timeouts before i get to see the available updates.
Once the lists are loaded all runs at a good sppeed. Just seems to be fetching the data is time consuming.
Is there something i can change to speed things up?
I have the following repo's enabled :
Nokia Apps
Nokia System Software Updated
Ovi
Extras
Testing
Dev
Sygic
The problem is with the extras-testing and devel repositories i had this problem disabled said repositories and app manager started running fine again. I have now deleted those 2 repo's and deleted all apps from them as everything in there just slows down your phone i think ill wait till there in .org repo!
any way to get a list of what is installed from Dev?
Yes..This has started giving me problems since couple of days back. Now whenever i click download or update ..the page opens blank after revolvinf for 3-4 mins.!
i cant even open the application catalogues..........The list is empty!
I wonder it resolves soon!.....
I have attached my application Log. Hope anyone can tell me what error its showing up!!!!
What a completely failure. Updating, installing or just viewing installable apps is so frustrating. What the heck is going on? I've had the AppManager "Check for updates, please wait" sit on the screen for over 30 minutes the past few days. Its ridiculous.
since disabling extras dev and testing it is a lot quicker but there should be a better way. Users wishing to utilise either of those repos should not have to put up with appalling waits to access software.
It probably would be a little more bearable is updates wasn't as slow. But even after the app manager informs you that there are updates available - presumably the same check has been run in the background - it seems to need to do the check all over again if you elect to install the updates.
Even when used when connected to wifi it takes just as long so can't be contributed to slow connection.
