ive had the n900, brilliant phone, give it a while and it wil do everything, apps will come out eventuanlly. however i have the droid and its brilliant. keypad is flat but u do get use to it and event tho the screen is 3.7 the phone feels light and sleek. the apps available are amazing and u get a free doc viewer when you upgrade your droid. look at youtube comparisons between n900 and droid. you wont be dissapointed with the droid!
later on in time i will probably buy n900 but its more of a computer then a phone. droid is more like a phone then a computer, it has all the main connectivity functions.
If I was you - I will wait for PR1.2 for Nokia N900 and then will decide which mobile to buy. If PR1.2 does not give good features and stability - if you can wait for couple of months till end of 2010 - there will be many new mobiles - not to chose between only two - droid or n900.

get a droid i.m.o
can you type fast with the keyboard of the droid? what's the key feedback like? do you get a nice click out of it.
very particular I know.
also I saw the video comparing browsers and I thought that the youtube video went to full screen because he meant for it to. I didn't realise that you can't just watch them like on desktop
im actually getting pretty irritated trying to choose
i bought an N900 last week, but the guy told me that the earpiece stopped working so he sent me a refund.
i tried to buy one 2 days ago but they required instant payment. then i started looking at the droid
yes i am serious. at least 2 of the reviews i have read for the droid say that the keyboard is either useless or that you wont be able to type as fast on it because it is very flat.
if i didnt care about the phsyical keyboard then i would go for something fully touch
Maemo is fully open source while Android is partial if I'm not mistaken.
Sorta. It's 80/20 open/closed, as if you had gotten an HTC phone and they had put some closed bits in, beyond merely drivers.
MeeGo seeks to be 100% open at its base, like Android, with the only closed bits being vendor supplied stuff. But unlike Android, the users will be able to improve the base distribution (instead of having to branch it) and you'll have access to a repository similar to what Maemo has.
