    I drop my N900 onto a hardwood floor two times couples of weeks.ago.. and it survived..... and then I drop my N900 again over the weekend onto the concrete floor from table level *no scratches" Wow!. only the slideout keyboard was slide out and the screen lid. Phew!!! again survived.

    ... and then when i climb into my house attic to do some cleanup work..., and lost it there..and later found it back with no scratches too but covered with dust..... amazing.... it survived.

    Sounds like you need to put your N900 on a lanyard and hang it around your neck

    I know, I am thinking of doing that too before it is too late.

    I've dropped mine on concrete sidewalks a couple times, back cover didn't even pop off. All I've managed to do is scuff it up a bit. (Yes I felt very bad.)

    Interesting.

    I for one think the N900 is not as sturdy as my old N800. My issue was specifically the stand that is around the camera lens. I was listening to a podcast with my N900 on a stool (approximately 50 cm high) with the stand propping up the N900. My N900 fell the distance onto a tiled floor. The case cracked at the point where the pins were set into the cover. Very disappointing.

    This definitely would not happen on a N800 or N810. The stand on the old internet tablets were built like tanks.

    @Lark

    That is my one biggest let down for the '900 and that is the teeny weeny kick stand... LOL! it is joke but anyway...have to learn to love it.
