High impedance? Unless you're aware of splitters that wire the outputs in series, you should see lower impedance; paralleling two similar loads gives you half the impedance, and there's no way the wiring is more than an ohm, let alone enough to make up the difference.
[11:24] <DocScrutinizer> crashanddie: though e.g on N900 you got an internal impedance of iirc 32Ohm, so the current will rise a bit from the amp, but same time voltage and thus current thru each of the headphones goes down
[11:24] <crashanddie> DocScrutinizer: so battery impact is minimal, you just get lower volume
[11:24] <DocScrutinizer> yes

I want to be able to carry one pair of headphones/mic to work with my MacBook and my N800 and anything else I might have. At the moment, I have a nice pair of headphones I use on both for music. For Skype etc, I use these with the internal mic on the MacBook, but still carry the Nokia buds/mic for the N800.
I thought a bluetooth headset would be the best solution, but haven't yet found a half-decent one.
My next headphones/mic will probably be USB, if there is an adapter for the Nokia.
