Hi guys, I had really strange day with my N900 today.

About 4 pm at work my device suddenly started drain battery very quickly and went very hot! Without any activity within 1 our from 80% to 0!, After that happened I lost access to app manager at all, I mean I can install, update or even uninstall any application. To addition to that keep saying I cannot receive or send any message because device storage is full which is bull*** I have more than half gig available. No access to the root.

The last applications I have been installed before was fresh version of Easy Debian. Also when I am trying to remove anything via PC or internal file manager saying Files are read only! What the hell!

Sounds like you need to reflash.
That's what I would do. And maybe don't reinstall your extras-devel apps?

    Or clean out rootfs
There is a wiki page for that

    Good luck

I founded couple of topics around this issue and looks like you're right, only re-flash is an option. . I can't say anything wrong on devel repo it was only my decision to install anything from there but c'mon guys! Keep quality of your apps at some level! now I need to do this tricky procedure and I am really afraid off, what if it will stop working with voodafone network? Is anybody here has experience with that?

Isn't Extras-devel all about trying things out? Doesn't all the documentation tell you that if you install from there, you're on your own?

Be happy that people push their applications to at least end up in a repository. Lots of stuff just sleeps on people's hard drives.

Ok, get focus on this part of my answer.

I agree and I am a precipitated there is a lot of developers who doing good job for all of us. But my point is v 0.9 doesn't' mean you shouldn't stop care about you app in any term, if you are developer.

I'm average user I never thought I'll need to re-flash my device. I am not Linux guy at all as well. But once again I am taking all responsibility on my own. My only question of the day is: Anybody here had trouble with UK vodafone network after reflash device?

There was one thread about someone's SIM not being recognized after reflash.

Other than that, I doubt that anything will actually go wrong. Many people flash all the time and there are never any problems

    EDIT:
    Voila!

Don't reflash, it just needs an fsck to fix it.

Your file allocation table is corrupted, it was writing to the memory (disk) when it died.

search on fsck in forum, its a common thing if you turn off at bad times when things get stuck - never a good idea to turn it off....

In your case, you had no choice.

whatever was eating your battery was probably the app writing to the storage too... tracker perhaps, pulse audio or maybe that process called bridge something....

If you've got search for wifi network turned off, turn it back on until we get PR1.2 after you've done the fsck

So, I have seen this replay to late, however after reflashed it and use back-up tool (without restoring applications just in case) everything seems to back to normal. Even contract WAP back on the list, because on "fresh" system couldn't recognized anything except gprs and local wi-fi.

So.. someone with similar problem can sleep easy, but make sure you have done buck-up before whole reflash procedure. This is really helpful.

Thanks for advice guys anyway, and re-flashing wasn't so painful except couple of minutes I couldn't turn on my N900, nothing happened after I press power button, my hart stooped beating but suddenly welcome screen appear on the screen... uff
