Thanks for your interest in Maemo/Meego and N900. Most of us here love them, but it's fair to say there are some issues - as with all new devices and software.
All you need to know can be found by using the excellent search facilities on this site. I'm afraid you're gonna get grilled alive if you go asking such basic questions without making some efforts yourself...
Most of us only get a few seconds to look in every now and again between work, etc. If you have any technical issues once you have a compatible device the community is here to support you.
Here is my first thread is this forum, so hi everyone
I'm going to buy a new phone, and what I want is ...
1. Calendar - I just want to use calendar to remind me sometime. If it can sync with Windows Live Calendar, It will much better
2. Messenger - I like to online Windows Live Messenger all day, n900 good about this? (and Ovi Chat is it good?)
3. GPS - I never use GPS but now I want really good GPS that can take me to anywhere and not make me lost
4. User-friendly - I don't want a phone that hard to understand, I'm just a basic user, and use it easily so I don't want to edit with some code
5. SMS and MMS - I use both all the time I know that n900 can't use MMS, can I fix it or install something to make it work?
That's all I want
And last thing ...what about the future of n900, Should I buy it now or wait for a meego device? (I search many thread about this but I want the latest information. All thread that have is so old right now)
No, you shouldn't buy it. It's awesome for people who know exactly what it is and what it can and can't do (yes, I love x-term). But Joe Average is probably better off with an Android device.

Agree.
No you should not. It is not too good as a phone and has nothing to offer in APPS because maemo is got ditched by Nokia. Android has like 50.000 apps and most of devices are good at being phones.
I think I know what it is but I want to have sure about all of these.
I don't like Android because I don't want to fix many thing like root or something. I want a physical keyboard and android only have Motorola Droid, I tried it and it really slow for me and in my country the Droid have many problems, I saw many people return it so I leave it.
I always trust the Nokia brand, I never use other brand else. I tried n900 a few times, I like it, it have a good feeling when I use it, But I just want someone that can confirm about these, And I really worry about the future of this device. Thanks
Another No...
I doubt you will be able to stay on windows live all day...unless you carry a spare battery in your back pocket..
user friendly: this is not so simple..
MMS: its a 3rd party app.. better get a phone with this integrated, you will have peace of mind and it will work best
