    gprs/umts connection icon constantly blinking

when connecting via gprs or umts, the little connection icon (circle with two arrows in the systray) blinks constantly, which is very annoying.

connection works, availabilty shows a steady green circle and i can browse web pages.

from what i found and heard (friend of mine has an n900, too, and says the symbol ist steady), it is actually supposed to be steady -- not blink.

is there a setting or something? or is it a bug occuring under certain circumstances?

Maybe the same issue as https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9444 ? If so, feel free to click "Vote for this bug" (but avoid "I have this too" comments that create bugmail for everybody)...

    thank you!
at least it looks very much the same.
    i, too, use wifiswitcher.

interesting related question: is wifiswitcher still needed? or is that issue (wifi not disabled entirely and thus still leeching power) solved already?

voting is no option, since it triggers the annoying issue of missing sso at *.maemo.org and i am not prepared to add yet another account to the plethora of accounts i already had to create b/c of bad designs and a wide spread greed for authentication (probably makes lonely site admins feel more important) ...
