It might actually mean that it only has a 65k color display and uses better dithering. 65k is more common than you imagine...

Actually, it means that the LCD on the X10 is capable of 16mil colours, but the OS is only capable of outputting 65k colour signal to the screen.

Yes, I'm completely sure they put in a 24bpp LCD there. </ironic>.

The N900 never gave me the impression I was handling something with crippled colour, though!

Do you mean you don't see bandings like the attached image in my prev post? Also during the speed test there is a color drawing after those balls flying around and thats awfully filled with bandings.

Uhhh... I dont understand much about whats going on... but, I do know that all youtube vids are pixelated. I see huge blocks in the video. Now when I look up the same vid on my pc, I see a clear vid. When I look at the same vid on N900 browser, not only is it all pixelated, but video info also says its playing at like 200p! WHY?! the vid was uploaded at 480, then why does it play 200p?! the screen has enough pixels. Same with 720p vids. even after downscaling it should be crystal clear with no huge blocks, yet same thing there, it plays at like 200p. Anyone knows more?
