i tried putting the sim in and it recognisedmitmas a 3 sim but when i tried to go online it said something like no access piont defined, when i tried asking three for the settings they said they could only send me the mobile internet settings and that i would be charged for any data i used and it would not come off my 15gb allowance,
eventualy (when i can afford it ill get a wireless router for the dongle, i just need to find a solution till then.
APN: 3internet
password: leave blank
username leave blank
I believe these are the settings for three mobile broadband (mobile internet has APN three.co.uk). However I have not tried this msyelf, no idea if it will just work or if Three are dong anything 'smart' to detect that the SIM is in a smartphone rather than a dongle. So if you set up your conection with that info, be sure that you monitor closely to see that your 15G data allowance is used or you cold start racking up charges. Caveat emptor :-)
