Thanks very much, Jaffa. But I am confused, I thought feature requests were to be done via brainstorm. Or does that apply only to base OS packages?

I previously created a thread on TMO to see if there was popular demand for such a brainstorm feature request, but as nobody responded, I didn't create it.

Good to see, though, that there are more people wanting this. I have just voted on this bug.

That's pretty much for the platform as a whole. Feature requests for individual applications - if specific - should go to their work tracker; which for Hermes is Bugzilla.

One thought, though.

Just out of curiosity, I downloaded hermes source and tried to see what is uses to get details from facebook and twitter. Fact is it depends on two libraries python-twitter and python-facebook to do that; there is nothing like python-orkut, however, and I couldn't find anything like that on google too.

But then my searches returned something about Google's opensocial API.

I thought the opensocial API was just to make applications inside orkut (and other social networks), can it too be used to fetch contacts data from orkut in a standalone application?

If it can, and if we had something like 'python-opensocial', hermes could greatly be enhanced by fetching up contacts data not only from orkut, but from several other social networks that follow the opensocial API.

erm,hermes doesnt sync their contact numbers too?

back when i was using windows mobile 6.5.5,there's this app for facebook that allows us to view their phone numbers..

is this possible in hermes?

Heh, that's a FAQ that has come up a number of times in this thread. Hermes already syncs everything useful it can get from the public Facebook API.

Facebook has another, secret, possibly pay-only API that provides access to information such as phone numbers, but Jaffa has been unable to get access to that API from Facebook. If you have an "in" with Facebook and can help Jaffa talk to right people and work on an access agreement, it will be greatly appreciated.

hermes seems to be not responding in my nokia n900,after the updating contacts bar finish loading....nothing happen and i could not even press the retrieve or refresh button, i need help
