I'm really impressed by the usability of Opera mobile.
I like the way it renders the pages so the the text columns are sized to the screen on zoom. It's just so easy to read the web pages, you don't have to worry about zooming in for the right font size and then the text column no fitting the screen.
I also find the interface really simple to use, there's a minimum of strange symbols or gestures.
It's really a lot easier to read web sites than with the default browser
Thanks! I'm very excited over this. I hope this becomes an official port. The one thing I've always loved about Opera is it's great caching for fast back/forward.
My biggest wish is for incremental zooming to be supported. The 2 stage zoom isn't bad, but it doesn't compare to incremental zooming.
Also, can you drag elements on a page in Opera Mobile? I couldn't seem to figure that out. i.e. mousedown and mousemove
I've got a little problem: Since I've installed Opera Mobile 10 beta, TweeGo is opening the pages in Opera and not MicroB like before. Other apps like mauku are still using the standard browser.
Does anyone know what the problem could be and how to fix it ?
I did not change the standard browser btw
Slow? On Diablo? Noway! It is faster than MicroB! It starts in 3 sec, UI animation is smooth, scrolling is flawless. If it is slow for you, it may be some bug on your paticular tablets
Without reading all the previous posts, just add my thoughts...
I love Opera Mobile, used Opera Mini as my browser of choice on my old N97...now has the chance to be the same on my N900....but....
1) No Flash - this is a big, big plus for the default browser, Opera needs it to compete...
2) No text reflow - the 1 tap to zoom is nice, but does not zoom in on a particular group of text, the chosen text does not fill the whole screen as it should, makes for either harder reading or more need to scroll to read all the text....
3) Default text size - the intial webpage is displayed showing the whole page, but while that is nice, it is not practicle, not readable....the font needs to be larger like that in the default browser, so text can be read without needing to zoom everytime...
I love the progress so far, and will keep it...but without Flash, it will not replace my default N900 browser anytime soon.
