Hello to Everybody,

Since the last update of the firmware I'm suffering frequent resets of my AE n standard router.

The AE is setup with basic services (no HD nor printer, no IPv6, etc..) and it is connected to the internet via bridge mode to my dsl router. Still it suffers from (very) frequent reboots under various conditions (skype, torrent, youtube. etc..).

An hardware reset and a new (conservative) set up as been tried. Of course, the reset wipe out the logs.

Even if you just have similar behaviors (like I read at least once in the general post about problems with the new firmware), please post it here.

I'm not having any problems on mine. Mine is setup with WPA2 and I connect the N800 using WPA2.

Thank you for your reply. After a AE reset and firmware flash and an N800 firmware flash, the problem is still there... The macs cause no hang at all when they are alone...

Could it be a problem of my mixture of Router + AE ?

I'm not sure what to look at. Make sure you upgraded the AEn firmware to the latest. I've also setup my router's DNS settings to OpenDNS.

My DNS also was pointing to OpenDNS. I've realized that my configuration is not well supported and the cause of the problem could be the Zyxel router . Now, I have finally been successful in setting up the Zyxel in bridge mode (quite tricky...) and the AE in PPPoE mode (very easy)... everything is very smooth and generally better. Most important, the problem is apparently gone!

I though it was an incompatibility between my router (Zyxel) ant the AE n. It is not the case. Not the router acts as a mere PPPoE modem and the AE n manages everything else... Still, after 2 days of use with apparently no problems, it reseted.

It especially happened during my use of the N800 and in certain conditions:

Use of skype N800 version
FLV (Flash 9) videos

My first post!

Anyways just want to say that this is the exact same thing that is happening to me. I have not found any pattern to it, but my N800 will randomly reboot my airport extreme. The AE has the newest firmware, and am using WPA2 encryption.

This only happens using the N800, i have never had this occur using my other systems.

While its not doing it all the time, its still annoying. Im pretty dissapointed with this router, its probably one of the worst Apple products I have owned. Hopefully the release more firmware updates.

Just added my 2p worth on the forum. I had grown accustomed to the Airport dying when I streamed internet radio to my Nokia E65. Perhaps it's an embedded 802.11g implementation thing?

this is how i fixed my A-E connection to nokia n800 --- mine also reboots router when downloading youtube or talking on skype or it just wouldnt connect to router so i went to apple and let my nokia connect there to A-e and i was amazed there was no trouble (darn) so i chatted with a genious and he told me to hard reset the airport extreme n and im connecting now and not resetting router and i tried shutting down and resatrting n800 not less than 20 times and still working like a jem 2 hours into surfing and its a wonderful thing if i run into more with this i will post but for now im this was too easy . Hi,

Can I ask, do you still get this problem with the new AE firmware update (7.2.1) ? - I updated my router today.

I was all set to order an N800 ... literally about to pull out my credit card, but I thought I'd do a couple more mins of research and I found this thread. I don't really want to lay out $400 if its going to cause me problems....
