    I just followed the http://maemo.org/community/wiki/HowT..._From_MMC_card
HOWTO, and am booting(with menu =) from MMC...

during the format process I created a 1GB vfat partition and the remaining 3GB I let become the ext2...

Alas...the above HOWTO doesn't really explain where things are occurring..

So just to clarify: the 1st partition is 'windows viewable'...the 2nd partition is what takes the place of booting from the n800 directly, and installation of software apps, etc..?

And a last question about swap...the controlpanel->memory->virtual says it will only put swap on the INTERNAL(behind battery cover) mmc card right? with a max size of 128MB? How to increase that, and make it access the EXTERNAL(edge-inserted) mmc instead?

Overall much snappier on the BootUp and loading of Apps! Yay! Thanks guys!

    Two questions:

    - What is the fat32 partition for?
    - Does this work on a SD memory card?

fat32 partition will be mapped as a drive on windows desktop when you connect your nokia via usb cable.
