    hello,

its been 1 month and i have had no problems with my wireless router and the n900. Suddenly yesterday the app catalogue failed to update. Thinking something was wrong with the phone i restored everything to factory. Later i thought of connecting to GPRS and trying and everything worked.

So now my WLAN at home is not workign on the n900 but the gprs contract internet is working.

What can be the problem ? Its been working perfect all these days and suddenly it stops.

Its connected but no webpages nothing opens. The sign is wifi connected is also there.

    Any help?

    Same problem here.
WLAN connectivity was working fine, then i received the app manager update, the phone froze and glitched out a bit.

The next day i couldn't connect to my home OR work WLAN.

    Any ideas??

    try re flashing your phone..

But I changed the router and its working now fine. so my prob was the router i think.

Try other Wifi networks to see if ur phone can connect to them. If its only your house then there's a problem with the router.

    I have the same issue.

Got my N900 3 weeks now and played a lot with it and seems more or less stable. Yesterday I got an automatic update for 3 apps: QTIrreco, WLAN Disconnect and LED Pattern editor. I selected "install all" and the installation failed for QTIrrco (qtlib-core libraries missing) and the other 2 installed fine. Nevertheless afterward I was not able to login to my WPA home WLAN anymore.

I have 6 other devices on my WLAN that work fine, so the router is not the issue, the N900 can also connect to 2 neighbors unprotected WLANs just fine. It seems to have an issue with protected LANs.

I have uninstalled the 3 packages that came with the update: QTIrreco, WLAN Disconnect and LED Pattern editor and rebooted the device several times but still no luck.

I am going to try tomorrow to go to a friend's place and see if I can connect to his protected WLAN (I could last week)

Glad to see your problem is solved. My friend has similar problem, and he solved it by update the firmware on the router. Also it's good to see N900 doesn't contribute to issue as such.^^

The Real Issue of N900 is that it can't gather the new access points of the same WLAN.

Here what i meant, in the mall, you probably found a lot of access points of their WLAN network around (on the roof, wall, table). The point is when you walk away from the current access point, your N900 will not usually be able to use Internet anymore. You must wait or reconnect the network again in order for making it works.

    :S

I had exactly the same problem. Following advice from other forum members I changed the channel (in my case from 13 to 3) of my router, and...voila! the N900 picked up my WPA-protected WLAN without any problem. Didn't have any issues since. So you could give that a try.
