When i enter into ovi maps on N900, It send me message like, The Bluetooth GPS connection is lost. Try to reconnect?

It doesn't show my current position on the map.

How to share my location to my friends and family and vice versa?

Google Latitude will do exactly what you're after.
Just save the bookmark to desktop and click once to see where everyone is (phone independent).

Edit: The GPS might be an issue with your settings as mentioned above.

Menu/Settings/Location/Enable then select GPS device, then INTERNAL GPS.

That may get you out of trouble.

That sucks!
I guess it's a hardware issue, too?
I have seen a thread which talks about having the N900 identify as iPhone, maybe that could help?
That sucks... Shouldn't have to hack and tweak a device to have it work.

Thanks for the info.

Symbian is supported though ...... Is it just me but are we being left behind with apps and being treated like beta testers for nokia's next range of smartphones?

GPS works outside of the box, Google Latitude works but you can't share your location (except by using an app on the repos)
It's not a hardware issue.
That's just a useragent, it doesn't change what you can or can't install.
No need to hack or tweak the device to make it work, it works outside the box (the iPhone needs to be jailbroken to do the 'cool' stuff too)

you can always use availability and set up my location in the status area, it will work with city location if you choose not to use gps on the phone, if your map is running on n900 you can select city level and it will show exact location.

The Google Maps website does work, but the app doesn't. You can either use Google Latitude updater from Extras-testing (which works very well) or use the website with the hack which can be found here to give you decent zooming control.
