Go to http://maemo.org/downloads/ and look for the GPE Contact, Tasks, etc. There is also a sync program, but I haven't tried it.

As for eWallet, I bought the PC/PDA version when I had a PDA phone. I still use the PC version. A simple password-keeping program that was ported to the Nokia is Password Safe, also available at the above link. No syncing to your PC, but for basic Nokia use, it's fine. If you want the PC version of Password Safe, it's on SourceForge. I used to use Password Safe years ago, before it went open source. Still a good program.

Smiling, as I sit here in shorts myself. What part of NM are you in? I'm in Las Cruces.

I'd say that my N800 has taken over about 50% of the surfing duty my macbook pro usually takes care of.

awesome guys thanks for the responses. Keep them coming. I still don't use the n800 much, and its probably because I don't do much other then goto work, gym and home. Haven't been on any trips yet where I could really unleash the power of it. I still need to build a proper media server and after I do I believe I will be using the n800 more for experimentation on connecting to my computer and streaming mp3s and video (*fingers crossed* hope its smooth)

My GF got a glimpse at this device for the first time last night, she wanted to check out some phones on verizon's website and I didn't feel like going up to the desktop so I whipped this guy out. She complained of course that it loaded a bit slow (verizon's site) and actually had the nerve to say "i hope you didn't spend a lot on this" - I showed her a few other features after the comment such as the ability to use the SD cards to lug around an entire MP3 collection and video. She felt a bit dizzy by the video, although I probably could stand it on a trip if I needed to.

I honestly am looking more forward to using advanced features such as streaming music and giving tversity a shot, if that is the best way to do it.

I turned off my laptop and put it in a drawer about a month after getting my N800 and just yesterday put the laptop away for good. I use my PC at work and home to do any serious typing (like this note) but for the most part, my N800 is my PC. My home PC is more of a server now (using ORB) and a tool for conversion of videos and to manipulate photos, but it's the N800 I use to look at them and share them with friends. I read my newsfeeds using Google reader, email, chat with my wife and children using Gtalk and Skype, talk with friends overseas using Skype, all daily on my 'baby'. I use Gnumeric to take inventory right in the stacks and email it to my boss. Plus, I can watch my recorded tv shows when waiting for someone or just catch them late at night in bed without waking the bride.
It isn't a replacement for my PC, or my phone nor was it intended as such, and I can't imagine life without it now. When I see that some UMPCs are going for $1800 (for Windows=( I am delighted to recall that my N800 cost less than 1/4 of that and, thanks to the open software, it just keeps getting better.

Since the new firmware upgrade I've had no troubles at all. I love the new browser, even though it has some bugs and crashes occasionally. I have no complaints about using beta software because I know I'm on the bleeding edge, so to speak! I've also had no trouble with SD cards, even hot-swapping in the middle of an application, and have never had a problem. Granted I'm still using a 1GB card but honestly, haven't seen the need to go buy something bigger yet. I will, but the prices need to some down a bit

In general, and I've said this before, I think this is a wonderful product and even if it's not perfect, we are the on the right path!

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I have started to use my 770 and Orb a lot. I tend to also spend less time at my PC, since most reading/forum stuff can be done on the 770.

I'm also in the N800 uber alles camp. I mainly use desktops for running programs that won't work on the n800.

But! My vision is unusual since I am very nearsighted, but I can read the small type of the N800 perfectly if I take off my glasses. I can't imagine using the N800 as much if I had normal vision... And I know that the font size can be easily changed, but that leads to other bad consequences such as the need to pan sideways to read all the text.

Your vision impediment is not that unique.
