Hello maacruz,
Thanks for the reply.
The problem I'm facing is that once I get into fullscreen mode, the fullscreen button disappears, and so does the menu. Tapping on the lower right corner does not bring up the button as is normal - thus there's no way to come out of fullscreen, except by doing a Ctrl-Backspace and quitting the zim window.

Any thoughts...
(I'm attaching a screenshot. btw I'm using n900.)

Ah!, N900, that doesn't have a fullscreen or a menu hardware button, I suposse.
Ok, I'll have to do something about this.
How is it solved in other maemo5 apps? Suggestions?

Yes, no hardware button for fullscreen or menu.
N900 has a fullscreen button on the lower right of the screen. It disappears if u don't touch the screen for a few seconds, then reappears on touching the screen.

I'm attaching a screenshot of the MicroB browser in full screen mode...

The problem is, in fullscreen mode, zim has a scrollbar button taking up the bottom right corner.:.
I think it might be a good idea to have a button on the toolbar to toogle fullscreen...
Or any other thoughts...

I concur with cobble, a button on the toolbar seems the best way of handling things.

Could you (n900 users) please test what happens with this notebook in fullscreen?
This one has the status bar activated in fullscreen, I want to know if the fullscreen button appears now.

I opened it, no button.

An alternative is to hook up to the Volume Buttons as F7 and F8 and map functions to them. Certain GTK based apps (namely CbrComic) already does this.

Using Zim to manage my mobile Novel writing right now, really neat-o.

No button here either...

Another option might be to use double tap to toggle fullscreen... that would be simple and intuitive.
Though I'm not a programmer so I don't know how easy or difficult it would be to implement :-)

What about a tap hold anywhere to open the main menu? That prolly negates the need for any titlebar at all.

Yes, that's right! It sounds good :-)
Or maybe have both - double tap for fullscreen toggle & tap hold for menu ;-)
