OK people I have a problem - I updated the power-kernel package today and now my desktop crashes EVERY time I press the power button!!!

How do I fix this?

Which version have you updated to? some of the later ones seem to be unstable, i think the last stable one was maemo27 there are posts about downgrading the version to this one somewhere in the last 3 or 4 pages.

Yes, go back to 27. If you read a few messages you will find how to do it, it's easy and it works.

I was running the previous version fine - when was v28 and v29 released?

I don't know what version mine was running before I updated today - but I update quite regularly so can I assume it was v29?????

Then downgrade to maemo27 as told on page 369 by Titan.

It doesn't matter much which version above 27 you updated to. They all had problems.

I've just tried psx4all and at 1Ghz and it seems no different quite smothe but not as good as 1.15Ghz

I'm off out now so ill give sygic a try ang see how that runs, as i believe it uses alot of processor power.

Wow, next time I'll read here first before upgrading. Upgraded last night to v28. Went to bed. Noticed the N900 playing up a bit this morning.

Realized that sound wasn't working. Changed back to all stock settings, multiple reboots, no sound, no media playing, etc. Nearly had a heart attack. Started d/l PR1.2L at work, thought I'd have to reflash.

Reverted back to v27 and all is now good. Very scary. Anyways thanks for posting to get me back to v27.

after trying to downgrade, my n900 is dead. it's time to try pr 1.2 leaked
