The last upgrade of Enhanced Kernel killed my N900 running LPR 1.2 , it started crashing doing anything and then went into infinite reboot loop.
I had to flash it back with flasher 3.5

the enhanced linux kernel packages is required for some applications (like Mobile hotspot) as it adds alot of functionallity like additional "File Systems" support, wifi features, overclocking and more (...apparantly it messes up the "touchscreen calibration application" though)
i would guess theres a big risk for incompatibility with installing PR1.2 on a kernel modded N900, but im too inexperienced to judge this.
now, would it be a good idea to uninstall the Enhanced Linux Kernel before attempting a PR1.2 upgrade?
ps. i ask this question in advance as a preventive measure. i know PR1.2 isnt released yet.
