ref "bump, help": 1st of may, noone is here (except me now that I'm taking a break from my adventures in ZFS and the weather sucks so I don't want to go motorcycling and can't fly my RC helicopter... *sigh*)

It cannot load the netfilter modules and thus cannot do NAT and thus returns error (which leads the frontend to tell "failed to start").

Which kernel are you running ? Note that I'm not sure lehtos kernel actually has netfilter compiled in (it might be just overclocked), and it might be that lehtos kernel uses the same version string as stock one (IMO *very* bad form). Anyways the kernel you are running is reporting same version string as stock one so if it's not the stock one the kernel packager is committing a sin by using same version string.

Try installing titans kernel-power, it also can be overclocked and is known to have the required modules (remember to reboot).

Has anyone gotten mobilehotspot to work with titan's latest kernel and LPR1.2? mobilehotspot indicates that it failed to start. ("failed to configure kernel" or something like that)

Poorly, I have been swamped with stuff so no freetime development activities.

Run "sudo mobilehotspot_backend start" manually and post output (if you use WEP change the key first to something like "example" or strip the hex-encoded key from the output).

    Hi,
over the weekend I had the situation that i needed internet access from a laptop which couldn't thether because it doesn't habe bluetooth and no usb drivers for the n900 where installed.
So MobileHostpot saved my proverbial /\55 Thanks to all who helped implement and test it.
But (there's always one of those around isn't there?) after the installation and reboot I couldn't start the backend with the frontend. Strangely it worked after shutting down the phone completely. So now it works.
I have a few suggestions for improvement that surely have been mentioned before. I have to admit I didn't read the whole thread.
    - Statusarea icon if the Hotspot is active (something like the WLAN icon)
    - Can't place shortcut because MobileHotspot doesn't show up in the shortcuts selection
    - List of connected clients in the frontend.
    - Possibility to close frintend without deactivating the hostpot
    - Hotspot widget/status menu entry to quickly enable/disable the hotspot

That's all for now. Keep up the good work.

    Regards
    Aydan

I installed mobilehotspot on my n900 and cannot seem to get it working correctly. It starts up and shows up on my laptop and itouch as a wireless network. It even connects, but that its, i cannot get any internet access on either my laptop or itouch if i try. I did notice on my itouch under the DNS option that is left blank, could that be why?

I am using att 2.5g, but the only reason im wanting to use this is for pandoralink in my car thats only available on the iphone or itouch so far. Any help would be amazing

See http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...057#post618057 for some pointers to test (also start the backend manually so you get full output from terminal and post it [remember to change your WEP key to something like "example" if you use WEP since the output *will show* the key])
