It would be nice to get the update but think it's not going to have any major in it other than what we know already. besides I'd also rather wait till it's completely stable too.
If the PR1.2 update is the most important thing to you, I say get your priorities straight.
I think it has the top priority in the Maemo world and for the whole mobile computing. We aren't talking about other worlds here, right?
PR1.2 can clean that applications traffic jam. Or kill this platform if it will arrive too late. I have a lot of fun developing for N900 with Qt and I still hope it will come in time.
I'm super disappointed in the turnaround time for this update.
I had a few issues developping an app during the port to the n900 device itself. I thought, heck dont matter, pr1.2 is around the corner anyways, so i'll just wait for that ... qt is built in and should make my life easier
at this point, i gotta say im considering just quitting the whole maemo thing and developping what i need for android instead... Sad aint it ?
(and i'm a 770 owner / n810 owner and n900 owner, so not like im new to maemo)
I think that the roadblock effect caused by the delay plus Nokia's relative aloofness has a medium to big effect on development and user enthusiasm, which feed off of each other. It's like a cloud of volcanic ash over the N900.
