    Hi,

I own an Ipaq mobile phone and it comes with a QWERTY keypad. Its similar to that of a Palm Treo...or even some Nokia/Motorola/Blackberry business phones.

The question is, is it possible to use the keypad as an external BT keyboard for the N800 over bluetooth?

I found this software from this website

    http://www.salling.com/Clicker/windows/

    http://www.salling.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4019

and it appears to be possible for Macs and Windows to be controlled. Question is, can this sofware allow my Ipaq to send keypresses over Bluetooth to my N800? I dunno yet! But if this works, then folks who use phones with QWERTY keypads could really have a great combo with the N800!

Let me know how your experiments go!

If the link doesn't work for you, search for BlueRemote at the PalmGear website.

If you have a Palm Treo supported by this software found in the above link, do let us know if you managed to use its built-in keyboard as a BT keyboard for the N800/N770. Thanks!

I'm looking for an equivalent software for Windows Mobile 5 devices...in particular, my IPAQ HW6965. If you know of one, please drop me a message.

BTW, Thoughtfix, if you're reading this, I sent you a PM about your Motorola Q having a similar software. Have you tried it and gotten it to work with your N800?

Nokia phone users may be able to use software from this website

    http://www.blueshareware.com/index.html

to enable their keyboards to be used as HID devices for the N800/N770. I'm not sure as I have not tried it myself...but it does look hopeful. If you manage to get it working, do share with the rest of us!

AnyRemote is another software maybe with potential.

    http://anyremote.sourceforge.net/

Apparantly, works on Java-enabled phones, and requires a server that runs on a Linux box (here, I'm hoping someone can get it to run on the N800/N770).

Naturally, the basic use is to allow the mobilephone (running the client java software) to send keypresses from the keyboard/keypad to the N800/N770 (running the server software).

If you're a developer willing to take on this and get it working for the rest of us, do let us know how we can help you (eg. beta testing etc)!!

Motorola Q mobile phones seem to have a Remote Control software in it that runs over bluetooth. From sketchy details, it runs over HID to control PCs. I'm wondering if it will work for the N800/N770. If you have both the Motorola Q and N800/N770, do let us know if anything works between the 2 for sending keypresses from phone to IT device.

    Thanks!
