More icon missing ! - maemo.org

Hi one and all, I have had my N900 since launch in the UK last year with no problems at all. Since then I have been trying to get one of my friends to change from a iphone. Finally two days ago they got there new N900 and yesterday they started loading up music from there laptop. last night I get a message help my more icon has dissappeared. any ideas as I did not think this could be deleted.

The more icon is no longer available in PR1.2, did your friends update to unofficial PR1.2 RC image ?

create a file named "applications.directory"

edit the file and pasta this

now save it, copy it to the memory card on your n900 and open a terminal

right then, now at work and have the device in hand. very strange this. Tried adding the shortcut to desktop for app manager which it did but it does not work.

Will need a bit of a fools guide to this. I know for a fact that the more icon was there yesterday.

First things first, how do I establish its current version ?

you gotta be root to do this.
do u have the pr 1.1.1 ??

go on the cellular call, type

*#0000#

press crtl button + maiusc + p

now u ll find a picture on the device, paste it here its a screenshoot

ok firstly it says incorrect number and also no image saved.

just dont understand this as my N900 is fine but this is just odd. He assures me that no updates applied and the only two things installed were Hermes and Petrovich.

X terminal does not even work, just added a shortcut to screen and thats not working either ?

Are you sure? maybe catorize is also installed?
