If you want to be able to use a decent headset with a remote, vote here:

I thought they where really good i use them everyday at my desk find they fit my ears perfect can wear them for hours with no problem and the bass is awsome compared to my apple headphones. the only thing i dont like is the flat cable as it tends to keep its shape more than a round cable so if they have been scrunched up they kinda stall all scruffy.

I like the sound too and these are my first in-ear headsets that don't fall out.

However I can't stand the lack of control.

My favourite in-ear style headphones are the JBLs I bought for my girlfriend. They sound amazing, and the cord is wrapped in cloth so it's both easy to unravel and super durable.

If I liked in-ears I'd have a pair for myself. I don't though -- I prefer the 'old-style' buds with the foamy covers because I actually like to be able to hear what's going on around me. Good ones seem to be hard to find anymore though, so I'm stuck with some old iPod buds... Anyone got any recommendations?
I'm using a combination of the Sony Ericsson HPM-75/J and the Sennheiser MX760. The Sony Ericsson headset is a two piece affair with a 3.5 mm jack in the inline mic. This actually works for phone calls with the N900, so you can use it to take/make calls without unplugging the headphones. I got rid of the stock Sony earphones that came with it (like you I hate the in-ear type and prefer the traditional ones) and replaced it with the Sennheiser ones. What I like about them is that they are in two pieces as well with the part going to the ears being quite short so it doesn't make the whole thing ridiculously long.

A great combination in my view, you can take and make phone calls, you are not saddled with a really long cable and you've got decent traditional earbuds.

I wonder if there is something wrong with my stock headset, cause I cannot hear my own voice when having phone calls. The person I speak with hears me fine, but to me my voice sounds like my ears are blocked. In every other aspect, the headset seems to work just fine.

i'm quite dissappointed with the headphones that came with the phone.
We only got our phones a few months ago and my headphones have compleely died already.

I've looked at the links in this thred, I like the look of those sennheiser ones, but they don't appear to have a microphone.

Being a wheelchair user, I rely on the hands-free aspect of the headphones. The phone is almost useless as a phone without them for me, and I'm really not happy that they broke already.

I have to use in-ear to hear things properly as I have an odd hearing condition and bluetooth sets are useless to me.

Anyone know where I can get good quality headphones with the microphone?
Not a headset with those microphones that come down your face for ventrilo and skype on the pc.
Just like the hidden mic in the original n900 headphones.

I also can't afford much so the cheaper the better. And I can't afford for it to crap out in a couple of months like these did.

    Thanks!

    Nicola

just leave n900 in-ear headphone in the box

**However, the n900 3.5mm jack works excellently

in my opinion, it can beat either iphone and ipod in some kind of musics
