Is there a way to automatically suspend the automatic dimmer settings when I have my N800 connected to AC power? The brightness control panel applet just offers timeouts, but no option to suspend the timeouts when on AC power.

Thanks

yeh i would love that too. The time out are annoying when plugged in or in the car plugged in. Even my Nokia 6230b cell has a setting to not dim when plugged in.

Two options:

1. Vote for bug #1046 which addresses (requests) this functionality

2. "Forum Search" is your friend. Try searching for "dimming", the thread you are interested in has the title "Keep screen on while charging?" and you want the acmonitor screen/power daemon.

I think if you search the threads for 'ac monitor' you will find a link to a program that you can download which allows different time-outs to be set depending on whether you are connected to AC or battery power. Have a look at this thread:

Should give you the information you need.
