I am currently using the built-in e-mail client for the N800. One major issue I have with the software is that it doesn't seem to handle any charset other than UTF-8.
I get mail written in Japanese all the time. Some of them are in UTF-8 (like when composed via Evolution), but most of them are in Shift-JIS, which is the most popular charset used in Japan. Mail written in Shift-JIS gets garbled when opened with the build-in e-mail client.
Is there any solution to this problem? I have Japanese fonts and input method editor installed so viewing Japanese web sites and composing e-mail in Japanese are no issues.
TIA,
Dai
