Hi All,

To start, I'll admit to being a complete Linux noob but I wanted to try and bit of Maemo development so thought I'd partition my drive and install Ubuntu.

So my problem... I'm trying to run maemo-sdk-install-wizard_5.0.py but when I do the first thing I get is a window pop open asking me for my proxy settings (host and port). I'm just using my laptop/router as usual. So I don't have anything to enter. What am I meant to do?

FF is working fine too btw...

I'm sure I'm doing something REALLY stupid but any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Daniel

Ok, i think that http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/ has gone down (or has a delay on it greater than the python urllib timeoutdown) so my installer thinks I don't have a connection...

Ok, i added a link to the Google logo in the IMAGES array and I now seem to be installing... if anyone could confirm this won't corrupt my installation that would be great...

Thanks

Update: Did some more research and it seems that installer shows that proxy window when it has problem with internet connection....turns out that my wifi connection was disconnected. After I reconnected to wifi network, sure enough, the gui installer app opened up properly and I was able to get SDK installed OK this time!

I've been trying to install maemo 5 SDK using same installer script 'maemo-sdk-install-wizard_5.0.py'.

At first it was working OK, but then seemed that I either lost network connection or there were server issues, so, at some point, install process failed.

Tried again, and this time it seemed to go better...but near the end of process, something went wrong and got error messages...

Tried again, and this time I started getting same problem as Daniel, instead the regular SDK Installer Wizard app window opening, I get that Proxy Settings window asking for host and port info....have tried restarting laptop, but still get this same window appearing now when I start installer....

Can someone please advise as to either how to fix this issue or is there another way to install SDK that is not too complicated?

Thanks!
