Hi!

I want to develop audio applications for the N900, but I can't manage to get any sound from the scratchbox I freshly installed with the Maemo 5 SDK Final.
  • The media player tells me "Media format not supported" for a valid MP3 file, while in the background it issues:
mafw-dbus-wrapper[4695]: GLIB WARNING ** mafw-gst-renderer - Got error in renderer:
domain: 1017, code: 4, message: Stream contains no data.
  • mafw.sh gives me another error:
    [sbox-FREMANTLE_X86: ~/MyDocs/Myrhev] > mafw.sh start mafw-gst-renderer
dsmesock_connect: No such file or directory
  • As to pulseaudio...
    [sbox-FREMANTLE_X86: ~/MyDocs/Myrhev] > pulseaudio
W: pid.c: Stale PID file, overwriting.
    OIL: ERROR liboiltest.c 405: oil_test_check_impl(): function mas10_u8_mmx_2 in class mas10_u8_l15 failed check (6279 > 0) || (outside=0)
pulseaudio: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libpulsecore-0.9.15.so: undefined symbol: eventfd
Alsamixer seems to be working though...

I really don't understand what is (are) the problem(s) at stake here... Can anybody help me?

Hi,

which system are you using? There are some problems with the sounds and Ubuntu/Karmic. You can find this info in the Release Notes:

With Ubuntu/Kubuntu Karmic, it has been noted that sound does not
work inside scratchbox. This issue is being investigated.

Hi Daniel,

I'm using Ubuntu 10.4 (Lucid) so I guess the problem is the same... Well, in this case I'll be looking forward to the results of the investigations Do you know where they are likely to talk about it?

Thanks for your answer!
