    eMMC flashing has nothing to do with the hardware or the software on the device - that image flashes the storage area of the internal memory - i.e. it will delete everything that's under /home/user/MyDocs (including backups, so if you plan on flashing it make sure you copy the backups directory on your computer first). In theory, there really is no reason to do that.

    I wanted to do the same by using the instructions shown in
    Move apt cache outside of rootfs to download and update firmware to 3.2010.02-8.203.2.

    Create a download folder on the eMMC to be used for the downloaded packages instead of the default apt archive folder.
    Code:
    mkdir -p /home/user/MyDocs/apt-archive-cache/archives/partial
    Now execute apt-get with the -o option as root:
    Code:
    apt-get -o dir::cache=/home/user/MyDocs/apt-archive-cache dist-upgrade
    The update is 92.7MB, but when I ran the above command, I got this this message at the end of very long list

    After this operation 40.7 MB of additional disk space will be used
    Is the 40MB space on rootfs?

    If yes? then I will keep losing around xxMB space with future updates hence fill up rootfs space and then I won't be able to upgrade any more?

    So... if I mention Vodafone UK (205) at this point, will you all point and laugh at me seeing as they've not even signed off on the last update yet?

    Seriously, Voda - pull your fingers out, please?

    Most people seem to be ok with 57.7 or more, although i cant speak from experiance as im still waiting on the OTA to roll out for the global fw variant
