Problems with package manager after firmware update

    Hello everyone,

after today's Maemo5 update (PR 1.2?!), my package manager is damaged. The search function is gone altogether and for the catalogues extras and extras-devel the error message reads "Could not resolve repository.maemo.org".

    How do I fix that?

You can do search, go to any catalog in Downloads and start typing a pattern, it will search withing apps name and description.

Extras and devel work fine for me, assuming that everybody is trying to get pr1.2 they may be down from time to time, so try again later.

    Simple. Resolve harder.

Not being able to resolve a domain name is a DNS issue. Check the settings in /etc/resolv.conf and connected files.

As of now, I have no trouble looking up the domain:

    $ nslookup repository.maemo.org
    Server: 130.236.x.y
    Address: 130.236.x.y#53

    Non-authoritative answer:
    repository.maemo.org canonical name = repository.maemo.org.edgesuite.net.
    repository.maemo.org.edgesuite.net canonical name = a515.g.akamai.net.
    Name: a515.g.akamai.net
    Address: 130.242.56.239
    Name: a515.g.akamai.net
    Address: 130.242.56.238

    Here's what I see:

    nslookup: can't resolve 'repository.maemo.org'
As for the config file /etc/resolv.conf, it contains just one line:

    Code:
    nameserver 127.0.0.1
    Any ideas for fixing that?

Too weird. Now everything works again, even though I didn't change anything... Sorry for bothering.
