Hey guys I was trying to isntall QSportsEvent so I did
Code:
apt-get install libqt4-webkit
As it was installing my root became completely full.
I ran the "df" command and it said 0 free space.

Now I cant do anything in the application manager such as disable a repository and any command I write using apt-get or dpkg gives me the following:
dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run dpkg --configure -a to correct the problem

and when I run that command i get
dpkg: unable to open/create status database lockfile: no space left on device

What can I do to free some space without having to reflash?

When I run df now I don't even get an output and the application catalog window in the application manager is completely blank.

Even when I press uninstall I get (no applications installed)

I am having problems performing OTA firmware update to 3.2010.02-8.203.1 which is 92.7 MB.

The updater downloads nearly 80-85% of 92.7MB and then gave an error message. Any ideas why its happening?

I checked with
Code:
df -h /
command and the available memory in rootfs is 78.8MB (65% free).
I disabled some repos and now the free space is 80.4 MB.

I am having similar trouble when performing OTA firmware update.

The version available to update is 3.2010.02-8.203.1 which is 92.7 MB.

you have talked about moving nokia maps folder to /opt/
How did you do it and how much space did you recover?

Can I do the above to free some space in rootfs install update and move the maps folder back once its done?

Is this process reversible i.e will I be able to move the stuff back?

Moving Nokia Maps (has to be done as root) will save 8.7 Mb:

mv /usr/share/nokia-maps /home/opt/
ln -s /home/opt/nokia-maps /usr/share/nokia-maps

Has to be done as root? what does that mean? Ive put that command in terminal and doesnt work

1. Follow Enable Extras repository to enable the repository.

2. Install rootsh from the Application manager if you have Extras enabled.

3. Open terminal and type
Code:
sudo gainroot
~ $ will change to /home/user #. You have a root access now.
