i also noticed another thing........when i open a new SMS in portrait mode, the virtual keyboard does not come up in portrait mode.....it reverts back to landscape mode....
Experimental or not, it would still be awesome if we could get this working consistently. Some apps look awful in portrait but i think it still has a variety of valuable uses.
Anyone at least know how to map ctrl+shift+r to some sort of one button shortcut?
Had the same idea, in fact I've just left this message for the guy that wrote the shortcutd app:
Fantastic app, setting the camera button to activate the phone is very handy!
I have an idea. Now that PR1.2 is out which requires ctrl-shift-r to activate portrait mode in many apps, it would be amazing to be able to do it without having to slide out the keyboard. If you want to use the phone in portrait mode why would you want to have to slide out the keyboard?
How difficult would it be to add a 'Portrait' option to the camera short-press menu, one which just runs a ctrl-shift-r keypress script?
This would make this application not only good... but essential.
What a rubbish. Like mentioned above. You can put the Conversations app in portrait mode, but a slight movement brings it back into landscape mode. What a joke
Also a little notification could be handy when you did the right keyboard button combo. Like Portrait mode enabled
Im also lookin for a solution to this, It is an awesome feature to be able to quikly switch to portrait to read a text if you are on a train or on the move. Idc as much about portrait texting and VertSMS wont be useful to me unless T9 is added plus integreation with conversations.
