How to launch applications via terminal? I know how to install them via terminal, but not how to launch it.

Searched for some terminal commands, but didn't find a way to launch a application. Any help will be appreciated.

Do you really need to start application on the terminal? Most of the invocations for applications are quite complex. Others are easier like microb for the maemo built-in internet browser. Which one are you having problems to start? Is it a ,kind of, stand-alone application or does it need some helpers? Does it not show in your menu at all?

dpkg -L <package_name> | grep opt
or
dpkg -L <package_name> | grep bin

should tell you where a programs executible is installed.Removing everything from the pipe on will show you all files installed by a package.
