Ok i figured this would happen to me eventually but too bad it happend right after the PR1.2 update and while i was on the phone with my LADY! >.<. Anyway I have seen a few threads already about this but i really want to know my options.
I hear flashing fixes this fast. But i also heard sometimes you have eMMC flash too and i believe that just completely gets rid of everything including contacts! is this true!!? man what a pain if i have to do this.
Anyway i had just removed Kernel for power users since it wasnt working after i installed it again after the update. Once i did that i decided to reboot my N900 because the virtual keyboard would NOT pop up for anything. Long story short when i tried to turn it back on it just kept saying nokia and vibrating a little bit like if it just turned on again.. again.. and again. It just vibrates for a split second then shows NOKIA for about 20 secs and then rinse and repeat the same process. =_(.
I cant even get to the dashboard in other words.
I've never flashed the device either so if anyone could help me that would be greatly appreciated and how do i go about doing any of the possible options. Thanks again and sorry for any inconvenience but i really have a lot of contacts.
BTW i am running PC's With Windows XP SP3.
(Also have a Macbook running latest snow leopard) If that makes any difference.

I had this yesterday too. I left it in the charger for about an hour while the device was off (so not booting either). The orange charge light went on/off. Then with the charger still plugged in i tried to turn it on and it booted fine again.. hope this helps you too.

Ok i will try this but i think it just keeps booting because it gets the power from the charger and it does the process all over again.(weird i know) Thanks for the help anyway. I will try again later.

If you fear losing your contacts, SMS and stuff, use the backup application, and save all the stuff you put on your phone + the backup file on your computer, to be safe. Then you can flash both eMMC and firmware.
Besides, flashing the firmware as suggested on the wiki page also removes your contacts, sms, configuration files, etc... So use the Backup app even if you're not flashing the eMMC.
