I want a "mobile computer", and not a "phone", seriously!
And I would never buy anything from Google, because they are simply the most evil company on the face of this planet.
maybe , if there was an Android phone with similar hardware to n900
There is.
Same processor, (thus same GPU), higher screen resolution, same internal memory, (doesn't have the built-in 32GB though, but has microSD), same MP camera (with dual flash)..
I mean really people.. the hardware is not all that "superb" or "unique" on the N900. Maemo is what makes the N900 great, not the hardware. If you like Android more than Maemo then seriously, get an Android phone. And that is said without the slightest amount of malcontent - Android is a great OS; it's just not Maemo. Unless you absolutely must have 64GB of possible space in your phone.. there is no reason not to get an Android if you like Android over what Maemo has to offer.
Though, the one thing going for it (the android phone) is it's at least confirmed it will be getting Flash 10.1....if that's important to you.
I can't wait to buy the android phone with thousands of apps and real support.
there are different kind of people , people who prefer android , people who prefer maemo , people who prefer java , people who just go with the hardware , which one of people are you ?
answer : none , you're a troll
yeah i've studied psychological analyzing .. taught by sherlock holmes
Hey! None of that talk here! We're civilized folk round here. If I wanted that sort of talk, I'd be thinking about a Freebirds Burrito followed by beer at Duddley's... And coffee the next morning at the Austin Java House.

I have not read the whole topic but i did the same, i was sick of waiting for PR1.2 so got the HTC Desire, now i use my device for web mainly, i sold the Desire 5 days after i got it, why? web just wasnt as good as the N900, some flash videos that the N900 played fine wouldnt even work on the Desire, i missed the qwerty also, and the camera wasnt as good also, so glad i kept my N900.
However the HTC did have a better UI, loads of apps etc but i like to customise my device without having to break it open/flash a new ROM etc (when i had the desire there wasnt a ROM out to gain root), also the desires screen wasnt as crisp as the 900s.
i will do it too but i will not sell it.i smash it with full power straight into the mother****ing mall.and hellrazor.......pls.really......pls....stop making posts......
Sure, I'll get an android as soon as there is one with the following specs:
1. Nordic, physical keyboard
2. Big resolution (800x400 or close)
3. Android 2.2
4. Fast CPU (compared to today's standards
Anyone have anything in mind?
On an unrelated note, I sooo love my N900 after my internet connection at home went down yesterday and I used joikuspot to make my N900 into a 3g / wlan access point. It was so beautiful it almost brought a tear to my eye
