just checked the bbc news from the site and its working again.....that's a bit of good news....although from the bbciplayer its still choppy and out of sync
iplayer beta bbc 1 still has a huge lag problem where the audio is way ahead of the picture..... bbc2 works correctly
a quick check on the play again....for example i selected have i got news for you....audio only and no picture....so all in all still a pile of sh%%e
Flash 10.1 is allegedly not coming to n900 so does that mean we are all screwed if we cant have flash 10.1 ??
yeap... I bet all of video content providers will switch to Flash 10.1 ASAP for 3 good reasons.
1 Better content protection - no one will like to let you get leaked video from flash.
2 Dynamic streaming - let them save a lot of resources of server infrastructure since they can keep only one file on the server and adjust quality according to your bandwidth capabilities on the fly.
i bought my phone thinking flah 10 would be released early this year and now the stories appear to be that no flash 10 is coming....what utter crap of nokia to show us all a n900 working with flash 10....i bought the phone after seeing that video and now were all screwed....i would willingly pay to have flash 10 on my phone.
try tvcatchup and then try playing any channel....thet are all flash 10.1
or try the bbc news website and try playing the live news....you should see the huge lagg problems others are encounting
The live news are a little bit jumpy but I dont experience too much lagging. Audio seems to be in sync with the picture. Could be a better flow in the video though.
im not signed up for tvcatchup so cant test that one
Please link to a site with flash 10. I havent come across any yet. thx
ESPN
Megavideo
Most "jiggly" sites. Not that I go to them though....
Game Trailers
IGN
All of the sites worked but a lot of content and site sections that did work do not now. What better way to get people to upgrade to 10 than Adobe using-sites, helping to force users to? Makes sense from a quality and support standpoint- everyone is using the same thing, except us N900 users. devu's points above are more detailed as to why the web site updates are happening.
I did not expect the jiggly sites to do this though- again, not that I go to them......
okay so we seem to have established that 1.2 is killing flash video, but do we have any suggestions on how to fix it? i've tried the other browsers and no joy. chromium gives an interesting error about the flash plugin crashing (cant remember the exact error message) which may be relevent to anyone in the know?
