hmm interesting. All the files are there. Cellwriter file is the only one that is extra. I would try deleting it, but I don't know for sure what will happen.

A thing that you can try is to overwrite all those files with the original ones. I have sent you an IM.

Install openssh if you haven't and filezilla on your pc

connect n900 and your pc to the same wi-fi, and use filezilla to connect to your phone

go there to see how to get your N900 local ip

Chill down bro,
If you want it back then it is easily achievable.

Follow this step of mine, from time to time my Virtual Keyboard stopped working and did the following steps and voila it is working again later

1. Untick the use of Virtual Keyboard and save
2. Restart the N900,
3. Turn it back on and this time go to SMS and tap on blank space to try bring out the VKeyboard, Obviously it won't show up since it is disabled.
4. Do another restart to make sure everything is working nicely via Terminal "sudo reboot"
5. Re-enable VKeyboard and now go back to SMS and tap on the blank space and this time Vkeyboard is working.

Try this a few times if first time didn't work. It will work afterward.

Hope this method work for you too as it worked for me.

Try install Ukeyboard from Extra-Devel.
If you've installed it then Uninstall it and then disable the Vkeyboard and reboot.

Once it booted then press the power button and turn it off and take the battery out and press hold on powerbutton for 5seconds to kill the power and it will reset the date and time.

start up the device and then reboot again by Terminal and then enable the Vkeyboard and reboot again by Terminal. This time it should work.

Hope you have some luck I always got mine to work via those way.

slightly odd suggestion but how does the contact on the back of the screen work, anybody know? if it's two contacts one for closed one for open perhaps it's bad and it thinks it's still open? just a guess.

edit: it's just one contact for when it's fully open anything inbetween is considered closed. I don't know what could be causing your problem.
