The secret is simple: Telescope uses no GTK, no Qt, no any other toolkit. Only good old XLib.
All these powerful window toolkits greatly helps programmers to solve their tasks, but them are also #1 source of performance loss, at least on mobile.

    Telescope 0.2.6.2
    Several bugfixes:
    * Window titles disappearing after screen rotate
    * Active window not always highlighted
    * Window preview is invalid sometimes

Please post new bugs you have found! I really want to fix all known bugs in several days in order to promote Telescope to Extras

Guys, if you still see black holes or garbage or any other invalid window previews in 0.2.6.2 version, please report this

I have two very minor usability issues (0.2.6.1, N810):
    * If I tap "X" on a program, sometimes that program requires a response before it can close (for example: "Save your changes before closing?"). In that case, nothing happens when I tap the "X". It would be nice if Telescope could switch to the app in this case.
    * It would be nice if the "X" to close a window were bigger. It's a little hard to close apps. Of course, if the "X" were TOO big than it would be too easy! But I think it could be double (or at least 1.5x) the height and width without any danger of that.
Thanks again, and again fine work!

Don't worry, the active button area is much bigger then "x" button. You can easily tap this button by your finger.

Yes, you must not tap exactly at X button. Instead, you may tap somewhere near top right corner. This is a compromise between usability and screen space

I'm not sure that it is possible for Telescope to notice such popup dialogs and distinguish them from other ones. But i will fill feature request

How does Telescope handle apps like MPlayer where the gui launcher shows in the task switcher but the video "disappears"?

ie: Launch video from Mplayer gui, while video is playing activate telescope (house button) task switcher shows gui....how do you get the video back....?

This just might be an N800 problem only....

    Thanks

Try pressing the fullscreen button, that will resize the xvideo area and probably will bring it back.

    @maacruz

worth a shot.....didn't work. sort of.

launched Mplayer gui(gmplauncher) , started video, task switcher (shows gui -not video), switch back to gui, full screen button - nothing. KILL gui, full screen button...nothing...fullscreen- brought back video.....task switcher again....blank....full screen button - nothing .... had to KILL Mplayer

-Note sound from video plays throughout above steps ( 'til KIll Mplayer of course)

MPlayer does video playback via XVideo, which is a bit quirky stuff on N8x0. Actually, MPlayer opens its own window with video, different from gmplauncher's one. But Telescope currently doesn't show it in window list. I already have patch which makes Telescope to handle it correctly and it will be included in 0.2.7 version today or tomorrow.
But even with this patch you will have to press fullscreen twice after switching to MPlayer's window, as maarcuz said, in order to reinitialize xvideo overlay.

Btw, same patch makes Telescope to handle SDL applications correctly! (so, telescope will work with fheroes2, freeciv, falcon's eye, LBA and other games).
