hi everyone i have a problem and i would be very thankfull if anyone there can help me.
i have downloaded mplayer so i can watch a movie with subtitles cause the external subtitle support did not work for me.
everything was ok till i change encoding in mplayer config so i can see czech subtitle. after that mplayer stopped working!!!
i have tried uninstall and istall that again but it still not working...
i don't know what to do anymore... can anyone help me?

Try launching mplayer from command line in X Terminal, for example:

cd /path/to/dir/with/movie
mplayer *.avi

And paste the output here. It greatly help others resolving your issue.

Also it is propable that mplayer does not like the change you made to the config file. You could also try renaming temporarily ~/.mplayer/config to something else and running mplayer. If it works then most propably there is some syntax error in config file. Hope it helps.
