I am trying to make abiword the default MS-word doc viewer (e.g. when clicking on a doc attachment in mail or a doc file inside the file manager).

I edited defaults.list file and added the following line:
application/msword=hildon-abiword.desktop

This launches abiword every time I click a doc file but unfortunately it opens up a new/empty file instead of the one I selected.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks! I guess I'll have to wait for a new version of AbiWord that can handle these requests.
I tried the same thing with FreOffice and it works when I select a file from file manager. Alas, when I select an attached file from inside an email FreOffice runs but it doesn't open the file. It just display the select file to open dialogue. Is there something I can do about it?

Qwerty12, because osso-pdf-viewer in PR1.2 has a rather incapacitating bug, I started to use your evince port from extras-devel. It's great that you provided that! Although I managed to restore osso-pdf-viewer, I'm certainly going to use your evince app whenever I need more, such like being able to search through pdf files.

2 questions:

1 Why aren't you pushing it to Extras-testing?

2 Would it be difficult to also include postscript support?
