One of the differences for example is the FM transmitter which is actually disabled in some countries like China for instance.
To be safe flash the image of the country or part of the world you live in or the global image.

the steps needed for flash operation are what i wrote here?
1) turn N900 off.
2) charge the N900 to full power.
3) put the command in the command line.
4) put the USB cable to computer and then to the N900 device on the other side + pressing U button so it will be in flash mode.
5) flash detect the device
6) start to flash with the countdown.

the problem is i get

maybe i didn't have the flash procedure ok above BUT
no matter i press U button + connecting device to the PC and than pressing the command or if i pressing the command in the cmd and than connecting N900 while pressing the U button.

i will try other bin file you used

aka, Maemo 5 Global release for Nokia N900.

don't know what to do else. right now i don't have my N900 working.

This sounds to me like you got a corrupt download when you downloaded the image file, unless i am reading this wrong but i would suggest you download the image again.

What country are you in?

Your flashing the wrong image !!! the image you should be flashing is the one for your country OR the global image ...

now the flashing works. thank you for that.
in the bottom line what was helping me to close it was that i used the
Second Maemo 5 Global release for Nokia N900
and it made my flahshing work!
media player is working, i can see my contacts , files etc.

but the story doesn't end here...

right now i have my SIM NOT working.
i saw a post here regarding it:

1) now, should i format the eMMC?
2) this is the vanilla you mentioned earlier, right?
3) do i have to do flash with the vanilla bin? what will be the result to my data and stuff on my N900 after flashing with

the EMMC?
4) and if i need to flash with the vanilla i need also to do something before that with FIASCO image?
5) where to get it? there's no bin file for FIASCO in the restricted downloads page.
6) which file i need to use for the eMMC

Hang on you made the classic mistake of downgrading and thats the reason your simm ain't working... what image did you flash?

i used the image of:
RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin

so i have to do a flash with one of the VANILLAs
RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.41-1.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin
or
RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA_PR_EMMC_MR0_ARM.bin
and than again flash with what was working before the 'Second Maemo 5 Global release for Nokia N900".
