I tried MADDE+Qtcreator last night. It seems good for creating apps, but something doesn't feel right. It changes the way Qt Creator behaves, and i don't like it. What do you think about MADDE?

MADDE is good, QtCreator is good

    Well, I'm biased

GO get MADDE 0.6.72 from http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/MADDE.php
    and try again

    Stupid Question:

If I install MADDE can I cross -compile stuff (e.g. gtk programs, command-line utilities, opengl/SDL stuff)?

    johnel:

gtk programs and command line utilities i have done.
IIRC SDL is there, and I quess opengl is also (libraries and headers)
so those should be possible too.

    I'll give it a try.

I did use the scratchbox-based SDK and I found the installation almost as painful as rubbing red-hot sand into my eyes!

short question: why didn't you take the ready-built binaries for QtCreator? Would have made it easier I think But otherwise good to get feedback!

Because i hate ready-built packages that are not packages for my distro. This way i created packages that only need a recompile to have latest and greatest qt and qtcreator.

Daniel, that's not the issue, the thing that really annoyed me is that you have to generate template to even try a binary on your n900, because you have to package it.
