You can replace the VKB(there's a handwriting VKB available) but as joppu pointed out the Opera keyboard is built differently from the system-wide keyboard.
Of course.
But skilled ones can "copy" its behavior and "paste" a new vk.
and some guys here are skilled enough to implement it as system vk.
Regards.
What? If it was so easy to implement a system wide portrait keyboard, why no-one has done it yet? That would be so much easier than trying to implement the opera keyboard, and it's a necessary step in order to even do so (implement the Opera one).
man, I'm willing to bet users would even be willing to pay €1-2 for their vkeyboard if Opera recompiled it as a standalone Maemo vkeyboard app in Ovi Store (LOL Ovi store)
Pair this vkb with the working portrait apps and we are starting to have the real portrait experience Nokia promised back in Dec 09
Seriously, kudos to Opera Maemo devs, you guys rock

I think the codebase of the binary data flow subsystem would be inversed in that case.
Yes! For sure! Look at this:
a) Ole toro!
b) I love paella.
c) Visca Barça.
d) "La lluvia en Sevilla es una pura maravilla"
e) I never worked.
f) I could give you a lot of arguments, but I must go to sleep...
Can we get back on topic please? It seems like every little insult now-a-days turns into a brawl.
Basically the question now, is how to get a virtual keyboard that allows you to interact with the background while it's still active (a la pre-Fremantle's stylus keyboard).
(And I know the Opera keyboard "port" is not possible. It'll have to be cloned, if anyone bothers.)
