Well I can't get past the restart browser part...it just refuses to restart ...I even tried to uninstall the version of adblock I got off the repos

This will work!

1. Uninstall the old adblock from app manager.
2. Delete everything in home/user/.mozila/microb/extensions
use ssh & winscp for easy acces.
3. Follow the steps in the linked url. http://browser.garage.maemo.org/news/12/

I manged to go further strictly following these instructions (this time i get to have EasyList present and enabled in the prefs) but it still didn't do anything.
Now going in about:config and setting adblock to enabled = true did it ...
