    thanks to mohammad who guided me on this one.

    /usr/share/applications/hildon; edit any .desktop file e.g camera-ui.desktop and append following line to desktop entry.

    Code:
    [Desktop Entry]
    X-App-Loading-Image=none
    it gives a beautiful transition effect when camera app is launched. this can be applied to any menu app.

    have to admit that bugged the hell out of me, so i removed it
    What really would be nice would be a wiki page listing out what all of these great options do! - really hard starting out as there is no descriptions that make sense anywhere. It seems the N900 developer relies on Mo's great brains! (Not a bad thing though, hehe)
