Are you guessing? Or you've tried the proposed solution?

It does not work - problem still exists. Does not matter if option is checked or unchecked.

yea, i had the same problem. i managed to solve it, primitively, by attempting to call the contact first. Without having to complete the call, i noticed that the contact's name was within sms contacts. so, try calling the contact first and his/her name should appear in the messaging contacts then

@beowulf - we do not have problems with contact visibility

your solution does not work for me either

[EDIT]
maybe I should describe and copy my post from other thread - here it is:
I am trying to send SMS to my contact called let's say "John Smith" and let's assume that I have only one John and one Smith in my contacts.
I am entering into "To" field either "John" or "Smith" or "John " (John and space), pressing "Send" and SMS is sent without any problems.
But when I enter the full name ("John Smith" or "Smith John") or part of the full name ("John S" or "Smith Jo") my phone says that such contact does not exist in my contacts and SMS cannot be sent.

I even tried to create completely new contact - "Aaa Bbb" - and still have the same problem. When I use separately just name or just first name - SMS is sent, when I try to use name and part of the first name or full name (with space between name and first name) - I cannot send SMS.

The thing is that it finds some, but not others. before 1.2 it gave me some options if I had many names with the same combo, like many Johns etc. but not even that now.

That is right - same for me.

I have few persons with the same surname and previously I was sending SMS to one of them typing surname and the first letter of the first name into "To" field. It is no longer possible.

Here is what I did: When u type a new sms, the contact name isn't highlithed, and when I try to send the sms it doesn't let me do it, but I delete it and retry the name and problem solve.
