Hi
i have problem with reinstalling (new install) a software on my n900. I am doing with nokia software updater. It stucks every time on 6,3 % downloading software. Where is the problem. I want to do that becouse i want clear install PR 1.2.
Help me please
Your going to have to manually flash by downloading the latest update and flashing to your device using flasher 3.5.
since flashing to 1.2 my gps on ovi maps is out by about 600 meters! Its doing my head in. why o why did i update to 1.2?
same here: i compared the GPS Raw data with my N97 the GPS calculates and deliveres the right info. But the maps seem to need a calibration. However, I am about 400 to 600 meters off to the east.
Need a fix, Nokia. Urgently
Show me how to go to a site you've never bookmarked or been to before whilst in portrait mode.
Youtube it, please.
why should I do it?!
I like the portrait mode when I can click tmo link @ desktop and read these useless threads through. nice and convenient and can be done with one hand while walking my dog for example.
I have read from numerous posts about extended battery life and other "improvements" with the update. I have had the opposite experience. My phone fully charged before I go to bed will die at some point during the night and my alarm will not go off! This never happened prior to the update and it is very annoying.
Any recommendations on how I can fix this problem? I don't have a ton of "apps" and I am a noob so any resolution that requires X terminal will have to be explained as though I were a 3 yr old :-)
First of all, PR 1.2 works perfectly for me. Everything is smoother, battery life is some 20% better, maps is more usable (they fixed the totally horrid point-to-point routing). The few issues with some applications were fixable with some short googling.
But, you guys completely fail to understand the mentality of Finnish engineers here. They design products mainly for themselves. When something unexpected happens, something doesn't work, the device gets bricked, these engineers mainly get excited "geez, that shouldn't happen... curious".
Bottom line: I feel so sorry for all you guys who got suckered into buying an N900 w/o knowing what you were getting into. This is a DIY phone. Period.

Finish engineers build schit to fail for the fun of it?
